Rise of Industry Wiki

Gatherers and their Harvesters are buildings that will generate various types of Raw Resource Products that can be used to either make other Products or to be sold to Settlements or the State.

Land-based Gatherer[]

  • Lumberyard - Wood
  • Iron Mine - Iron Ore
  • Coal Mine - Coal Ore
  • Copper Mine - Copper Ore
  • Gas Pump - Gas
  • Oil Drill - Oil
  • Water Well - Water

Every Gatherer has two components:

  • A Hub, which controls the Gatherer
  • Harvesters which collects the Raw Resource from the Node.

When the player wants to collect a Raw Resource, they first need to buy and place the Hub and then place the Harvester(s) near or on the Raw Resource Node that was placed on the map

The hub and each harvester have a monthly upkeep. To avoid paying the upkeep, the hub can be deactivated temporarily.

  • While deactivated, they will generate no upkeep.
  • All owned fields will be deactivated as well and will not generate its product.

Placing a Gatherer & harvesting[]

  • Place a Gatherer by choosing one in the Construction Menu under the Gatherers Tab
  • Once you select a Gatherer, place it on the map close to the resource associated with it.
  • Once built, the Gatherer building panel should automatically open. If not, Click on the Gatherer to open its panel.
  • Gatherers need Harvesters to start gathering resources. By clicking on the Add Harvester button located at the bottom of the panel, you get a Harvester. You will need to place the Harvester close to the Resource before it will function.
  • Once the Harvester is placed, it needs to be linked to the Gatherer by a Road. Build one that goes from the Harvester to the Gatherer.
  • Some Gatherers (Coal, Copper, Gas, Iron, Oil) do not require a Road to function.
  • The Gatherer is now fully operational and will start gathering resources.

Lumberyard Specifics[]

When a Lumberyard Harvester is placed, it will select up to 4 of the closest Trees within the radius of the Harvester for its exclusive use. For each Tree the Harvester reserves, it will increase its Production Rate by 25% (Maximum 100%). When a Tree Node is depleted, the Harvester will select a new Tree. If there is no Tree in range, the Harvester will reduce its Production Rate. If there are no Trees in Range, the Harvester will shut down.

You can create more Trees using the Plant Trees Terraforming tool, but the Tree needs to take some time to mature enough before it can be harvested.

Iron Mine, Copper Mine, Coal Mines, Gas Pump, and Oil Drill Specifics[]

When placed, these Gatherers require the Player to place their Harvesters on the Raw Resource Node appropriate to the Gatherer. E.g. Iron node for Iron Mine. Each Raw Resources node has a limited amount of Units available. Once the Limit has been reached the Harvester will continue to generate Units of Raw Resources but at 25% production rate.

Transporting Products - Manual Mode[]

  • Open the Gatherers Panel and Click on the Destination Tab
  • Click on one of the Destination slots
  • Find a Destination from the list and click on it. Only valid destinations are shown, so if there is none, a “0” appears next to the category.
  • Click on additional Destination slots to transport more resources or transport resources to multiple destinations
